Kathy Doering  is McAfee certified in Social Media Investigations and is the President of the Social Media Research Association. She has owned Ann Michaels & Associates for 20 years. Kathy loves helping people and all things social media. In 2007, she saw an opportunity to put those two things together and form a unique niche service offering for her company, Ann Michaels & Associates. She called it eChatter. Since then she has worked with investigators, law professionals, and attorneys. Over the years Kathy and her team of social analysts have seen a lot and learned a lot. In this presentation, she and her VP of Operations will teach some tricks of the trade when it comes to mining social media data and Open Source Intelligence online. She will explain the differences between the layers of the web and teach how to maneuver to uncover the information you are looking for.

Marianne Hynd is the Vice President of Operations at eChatter, a social media/onlineinvestigation provider. Her degree in Psychology coupled with her inquisitive, curious nature made this an obvious career choice. She started learning about social listening, research, and open source intelligence back in 2007 when social media usage became prominent. Since that time, she played an integral role in developing eChatter's service offerings and stays on top of the latest trends, search techniques, and changing laws in order to provide investigators, lawyers, and insurance companies comprehensive and detailed investigative reports. She has authored articles related to online research through the eChatter blog and has been a contributing author to Quirks, Maximize Social Business, and Customer Think.

INVESTIGATIVE / SURVEILLANCE PHOTOGRAPHY -  By Ron Mckown & Margaret Mckown
Ron has been an investigator for over 45 years, 20 with the military and 25 as a PI in California, Washington State and in Virginia.  He was the Executive Director of the Private Investigators Association of Virginia for 14 years.  Both Margaret and Ron are Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Instructors and own a DCJS Licensed Private Security School certified to teach Entry Level and In-Service training for Security Officers, Private Investigators, and Personal Protection Specialist (Executive Protection); as well as DCJS firearms courses, i.e., basic handgun, shotgun and advanced handgun.  They have given countless presentations on investigative / surveillance photography and I have been a guest lecturer at the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI's National Convention here in Washington, DC.  As for the tech gear, they will have the latest and greatest cameras and lenses from Nikon.  It's what they use.  It's top of the line equipment, their mantra when they teach is, "If you want professional results, you need professional gear". But in today’s world improvising is a key, the attendees will be shown how to get the best results from what the investigator has in the camera bag.

MAKING A CASE FOR CASE MANAGEMENT -  By Brian DeAntonio FCLA
Brian has been in the investigative industry for over 20 years and has worked not only in the field but on management teams for a variety of sized agencies ranging for small regional operations to large national and international firms.  As an industry innovator, Brian conceptually designed case management systems that are used by agencies all over the world. Brian’s focus is to bridge the gaps between the investigation profession and the availability of "out of the box" case management software. Gone are the days that a professional firm can operate without  a case management system, and with today’s technological advances a reliable and secure case management system is affordable to all size firms. Brian’s presentation will provide the insight needed to assist professional investigation firms to manage large caseloads with efficiency and security, so to allow firms to grow with the markets of the future. This is a workshop you don’t want to miss.
